Brazil Peacock Bass Fishing by Rod and Gun Resources

The tropical fresh water fish species of the Amazon Basin are pound for pound arguably the most aggressive, hardest fighting fish on Earth. These acrobatic and colorful jungle species readily take flies and poppers and offer unparalleled experiences for the fly-fishing angler, both for numbers of fish and size. It is not uncommon for a peacock bass fly fisherman to catch and release 30-40 fish per day… as well as payara, surubi, corvina, bacuda, pacu and other exotic species.

Over the last two decades, through many, many research trips, Rod and Gun Resources has developed two distinctively different peacock bass fly fishing programs targeting this exciting species along with many other exotic gamefish in Brazil and Bolivia.

These programs, developed with our longtime friends and renowned outfitters, Jorge Molina of Bolivian Adventures/Caño Negro Lodge in Bolivia, and Luis Brown of River Plate Anglers in Brazil, offer fantastic fishing, knowledgeable guides, good boats and equipment, comfortable, air-conditioned accommodations, good food and outstanding service. There are no greater trips on earth for adventurous fly anglers.
